Boots of Steel

Boots of Steel is a high-style Western reimagined through an modern lens, created for The Buzz Magazine to showcase bold cowboy styling in an unexpected setting. Set in a gritty 20th-century landscape of steel and smokestacks, the short follows Cassidy Cattlehorn in a tense shootout with the notorious Buckshot Barry. The clash of classic Western archetypes against a raw, warehouse backdrop creates a striking visual contrast, turning a familiar genre into something fresh and cinematic.

Every frame was crafted to highlight texture, movement, and the power of costume. Bringing this vision to life required a careful balance of cinematography, costume design, and dynamic editing. The contrast between rugged Western fashion and the stark, industrial setting created a unique visual language—one that feels both timeless and cinematic. Every frame was designed to feel like a moving portrait, with rich textures, bold compositions, and the weight of an era colliding with the next —delivering a visually compelling take on the Western mythos.

Silent Quitting

Silent Quitting is an emotional, character-driven short film made at Boston University, following Claire as she returns home from work on Christmas to find her mother has relapsed. The film captures the quiet devastation of their relationship, exploring themes of exhaustion, helplessness, and the weight of love in difficult circumstances.

Through gritty cinematography, the film immerses viewers in Claire’s world, with lighting and editing working in tandem to heighten the emotional impact of each moment. Shadows linger in the spaces between them, tension builds in unspoken words, and every frame feels raw and intimate. Silent Quitting is a story about what is left unsaid, the ache of disappointment, and the quiet strength it takes to move on.

A BUZZ NIGHT OUT

A Buzz Night Out is a high-energy, music video-style short created for The Buzz Magazine to promote the release of their latest issue. Capturing the excitement of getting ready and heading out, the film highlights the journey over the destination—because sometimes, the best part of a night out is everything leading up to it.

With dynamic transitions, bold styling, and a soundtrack of modern dance-pop energy, the short is a fast-paced, visually playful piece of content. Every frame bursts with personality, from the glam of last-minute outfit changes to the rush of trains blurring past. A Buzz Night Out isn’t just a promo—it’s a vibe, a mood, and a celebration of the anticipation that makes nights unforgettable.

SHIPWRECK

Originally planned as a sunny beach shoot filled with bikinis and volleyball, Shipwreck took an unexpected turn when the weather refused to cooperate. Instead of fighting against the cloudy, somber atmosphere, the team embraced it—transforming the project into a gripping proof of concept for an episodic drama. The short follows three characters who wash ashore, their clothes torn, their bodies cold and wet. With nothing but scattered belongings and sheer willpower, they come together to survive, forging a tense yet hopeful beginning to their journey.

The moody, overcast skies and rough waters became the perfect backdrop for the story, adding a raw, cinematic quality to each frame. The cinematography leans into the grit and uncertainty, while the editing heightens the sense of urgency and resilience. What began as a lighthearted concept evolved into something far more compelling—Shipwreck is a testament to adaptability in filmmaking, proving that sometimes, the best stories come from the unexpected.

Double-Dealing

Double Dealing—created as my final project for Production 1 at Boston University—turns a high-stakes game of blackjack into a spectacle of deception, comedy, and chaos. When the protagonist gets a call from a mob boss demanding repayment, his only option is to gamble his way out. But this isn’t just any card game—it’s filled with outrageous cheating, absurdly dramatic devastation, and unexpectedly comedic deaths that keep the stakes as unpredictable as the players.

With stylized cinematography and sharp editing, Double Dealing leans into its double meaning—both in its card-playing premise and its underlying betrayals. Tension builds with every hand dealt, only to be undercut by hilariously over-the-top twists. The result is a film that balances the thrill of a classic crime setup with the playfulness of a comedy, proving that in this game, nothing is as it seems.

Unspoken

Created as my final project for Screen Language class, Unspoken is a visually poetic short film about love, loss, and renewal—all told without dialogue. The story follows a girl who hesitates to confess her feelings to her best friend, only to realize she’s waited too long when her friend starts dating someone else. Heartbroken but not hopeless, she finds herself falling in love again when a new girl enters her life, capturing the beauty of moving forward.

The film leans heavily on imagery and composition to convey emotion, from the warmth of spring’s rebirth to the suffocating intensity of anxiety and depression. A carefully crafted montage brings the love letter at the heart of the story to life, turning unspoken words into something deeply felt. Unspoken is about love in its quietest moments—the things left unsaid, the feelings that linger, and the beauty of second chances.
